Whitney-Houston
The crowd watched in shock as a frail Whitney Houston hit the stage Friday night during the Michael Jackson concert at Madison Square Garden where she appeared "skeletal" and high on drugs. As this photo shows, one of the world's most vital pop stars has become a shell of her former self in the year and half since she last publicly performed. In the past, rumors flared about Whitney's alleged drug addiction after missing and bungling shows like the above mentioned. Despite weight loss rumors because of anorexia or bulimia, Houston insists "I am not sick. Let' s get that straight. I've always been a thin girl. I am not going to be fat, ever."
Whitney's Battle Continues
What happened to Whitney? It is amazing that someone so talented can have deteriorated so much. Is her marriage to Bobby Brown to blame or was her downfall inevitable? Who knows?! Since her 1992 marriage to bad boy Brown Houston has been on a steady decline. The marriage has been filled with rumors of infidelity, drug abuse, eating disorders, and physical and mental abuse. This is not the first time Houston has checked herself into rehab. She has tried kicking her addictions twice before once in 2004 and once in 2005. She needs to get her act together, if not for her, for her daughter Bobbi Kristina.

 Wynonna Judd
In November 2003, Wynonna appeared on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show discussing what she described as a "severe" dependency to food. In September 2005 Wynonna made a second appearance on the show, discussing how she has lost some weight (but not yet at her goal weight). In 2006, Wynonna checked herself into Shades of Hope Treatment Center for food addiction. "It was consuming a lot of my life. I mean I felt like -- I mean food to me is what alcohol is to the alcoholic and the struggles up and down. You know the business. One minute you're number one. The next minute you're number zero. And I had just been using food for every emotion I had. If I was joyful, we'd go out to eat. You know how it is when you have kids. It's all about snacks and food and carrying it with me on the road. And, I just -- it became too much, so I did something about it." |
