Milestones In Recovery provides residential and intensive outpatient programs for individuals suffering with Compulsive Overeating, Bulimia, Anorexia, and related disorders. We are a therapeutic community whose mission is to offer a supportive environment from which to begin a new way of life...a life way we refer to as "recovery."

Milestones follows a "blended" approach to treatment - addressing both the "addictive" and emotional aspects of an eating disorder. Residents attend a full schedule of group and individual activities during the day as well as participate in various support groups during evenings and weekends. Grocery shopping, meal preparation, and "real world" experiences are an integral part of the program. Unlike a traditional hospital environment, Milestones affords an opportunity to recover in a less restrictive setting while receiving the support and structure necessary to overcome the tyranny of an eating disorder.

The program offers the structure, support, and supervision necessary for most people  with an eating disorder to begin the recovery process without the restrictive elements of a hospital or psychiatric setting. Patients must be medically stable and not in need of immediate medical intervention or 24 hour nursing supervision. The program utilizes both an addictions (12-step) model as well as a the primary components of a medical/cognitive behavior model. The program is JCAHO accredited and Licensed by ACHA to provide residential treatment for people with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder. Milestones is contracted with most major health insurers and managed care organizations.
