A Gift of Giving

I see them playing with their friends and wonder what it is like
to have that look of innocence, to lead a carefree life,
to watch them giggle and smile and play so young and full of life.

I wasted all my childhood years and now it tears me like a knife.
Did I ever smile like that and had no terrible worries?
Why did I waste all of my childhood years on becoming an adult in a hurry?

You can't recapture those lost and wasted years.
You can't return and quiet all those fears.
Tell your story to everyone you know.
Share your deep down pain.

You never know who is there with you that you might help.
Don't let it all be in vain.
Open your eyes and look around.
She might be sitting right next to you

Don't pass up the chance to share before your life is through.
It's not to late to swing on a swing or giggle with a friend.
Don't lead this disease be your beginning and your end
