Eating Disorder Poetry
You Lied
you lied and i believed you
because i needed to believe something
you told me to trust you
and you would take away all the pain
that wasn't a lie
the pain went away
but you forgot to tell me the price for numbness
i didn't know until it was too late
i had to give up
my friends, my family,
my hopes, my dreams,
and eventually my life
if i had it to do over again
i would keep the pain
cry, grieve,
hurt and let myself heal
