Butterfly Waiting To Emerge

I feel my soul slip away
watch my life stolen before my eyes
surrounded by memories of happiness
a picture book full of lies

Walk gracefully through moments
the queen of the masscarade
for every ounce of pain I've caused
surely I've been repaid

Fearful of this world I made
a reflection of what's inside
judgment, rejection and failure
searching desperately for a place to hide

Once a wondering caterpillar
the cocoon is secured and tight
wait patiently for enlightenment
I'll soon be a butterfly in flight!
